In the spring of 2024, our solar system stopped working. That was when I found out what it meant to be a solar orphan. The company that installed our solar system went out of business, and it was hard to find someone to help us get it back online. Then Independence Renewable Energy adopted us, and we were so happy with their service. They fixed the problem, gave us some great advice, and set up a squirrel fence to help keep out the squirrels. We had some connectivity issues a year later, and they came to the rescue again. Thanks to Katherine, Norm, Eric, and their team for keeping our solar up and running. My biggest thanks and recommendations go out to Independence Renewable Energy!

These people Independence Renewable Energy did a fantastic job removing and re-installing our solar system. It all started with micro-inverters not reporting and built into replacing our roof. The original company went out of business. We had no one to do the work. Enphase recommended them and the rest is history. The also repaired our system for little critters eating our wires. They install a guard around the solar panels so that this will not happen again. Did know that these critters would do this. Independence Renewable techs came fixed and safe guarded our system. These people are a treasure for there are not many solar people out there that will repair others just want to sell the system and not support it. Thank You Norm and his team for the great work.

I was a bit concerned at first since IRE was a subcontraced service company from the company that originally intalled our solar system. However, the contract they presented my was very detailed and their crew completed the job in two phases exactly as specified in said contract. If I need service in the future I will call IRE!

I live in northwest Indiana and the company that installed my solar went out of business right after installed it. Had no problem with it for three years, be I noticed the output was not what it was in the beginning ,it was very low. I called generac and they told me what the problem was. I contacted independent solar and they came out and fixed what they could and ordered the parts for the rest. Good service nice people to deal with.

We offer full solar system design + installation, inspection, service, repair, warranty/RMA claims, & detach + reset services.  

Yes. If your original installer has gone out of business or has stopped responding to your inquiries for service, we can help!

We are happy to provide a free quote for any service work needed. Pricing can be complex due to multiple factors such as: warranty coverage, depth of issue, travel distance, size of system, etc. 

Our team of trained technicians will perform an inspection of the solar installation to identify the issue(s). Pictures will be taken for documentation. 
If needed, they will call the IT division on your inverter manufacturer to work through any error codes. 

While we can service any inverter, our technicians are certified to service: Enphase, SolarEdge, Generac, Tesla, Hoymiles, Fronius, & SolarSMA.

We provide service support for all systems. If your solar components are not covered fully or partially by warranty, you will be responsible for the service fee. 

We service all sizes of residential & commercial solar installations.

Possibly, yes. We work with multiple financing companies and third party solar contract companies to coordinate warranty and service work. (ex: Greenlancer, Omnidian, etc)
