Jeff P. pursues an interest in the environmental and economic benefits of going green. Upon deciding to invest in a solar system, he was referred to another popular company. “They did not seem to want to work with me,” Jeff said. “They kept telling me what I should do, and were not listening to my input. Norm came over and listened and said he would work with me,” thus beginning his relationship with IRE.

Being directly involved in the installation process was of the utmost importance to Jeff. IRE was happy to accommodate. “We were allowed to install the panels ourselves. It was a lot of work, but went very well. The guys were clear about what I needed to do and always ready to help. I have one of the cleanest solar installs I have ever seen,” Jeff proudly stated.

He continued saying of his experience how “everyone was very easy to work with. They clearly explained what needed to be done. Everything went according to schedule. When I was concerned about the connection to the supply power, I was not comfortable, so the IRE guys stepped in and took care of it in the friendliest manner. Everyone was constantly telling me that some of the electrical work, especially grounding, seemed like overkill, but was better safe than sorry and that they simply would not compromise on quality.”

Since going solar, the best part has been sharing his experience with others. “The last two years, my average ComEd bill has been less than $20 per month for the entire year, “ Jeff said. And the environmental benefits of his decision to go solar has motivated him to keep on making such positively impactful decisions. “I am thinking my next vehicle will be 100% electric,” he names as one of his future plans.

Jeff has enjoyed sharing his passion for going green with his children. “The kids like to tease me about it, but I love it any how,” he says. “They see how it is helping us and the environment. I still dutifully turn off lights, but certainly cannot complain about the electric bill!”
